POSITION SUMMARYÂ
 The Host/Hostess provides a friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. The primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time that they will want to return again and again. May require independent judgment in the disposition of routine matters without direct supervision. Will work under the direct supervision of the Restaurant Manager.
 REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Â
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Â
- Maintain complete knowledge of restaurant’s food and beverage preparationÂ
- Enter and complete customers’ orders on computer system; accept several types of payment and make changeÂ
- Interact with guests in a friendly and efficient manner; ensure guests’ complete satisfaction by exceeding their expectationsÂ
- Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of  the restaurantÂ
- Clear and reset tablesÂ
- Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policyÂ
- Perform other duties as directedÂ
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Â
- Basic mathematical skills: ability to make changeÂ
- Basic reading and writing skillsÂ
- Must be able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time (up to 5Â Â Â Â Â Â hours) and be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift ups to 25 poundsÂ
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate a point-of-sales systemÂ
- Excellent communication and customer service skillsÂ
- Basic understanding of dining room and service procedures and functionsÂ
- Multi-task orientedÂ
- Must be able to upsell food and beverage itemsÂ
- Knowledge of workplace safety proceduresÂ

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts and carries tubs and cases weighing up to 25 pounds. The employee must frequently communicate with Dining Room Assistants, Servers, and other staff. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls and burns; frequent exposure to smoke, steam, elevated temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood and produce items and frequent washing of hands.Â
