Job DetailsJob Location: KA ARK INC - Bentonville, AR 72712POSITION DESCRIPTION Job Title: Avionics Technician Reports To: Production Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Maintenance Location: Arkansas   POSITION SUMMARY   The Avionic Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, modification, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics and electronic systems across multiple aircraft platforms. This position conducts performance checks of instrumentation and avionics systems to ensure continuous, acceptable system performance in accordance with FAA regulations and King Aerospace policies and procedures. QualificationsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   Interpret and install avionic systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents with minimal or no supervision. Responsible for inspecting components of avionics equipment for defects and examine accuracy of assembly and installation. Ensure avionics equipment compliance with FARs, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins, and company procedures. Determine and verify airworthiness of avionics maintenance performed. Maintain comprehensive records of repairs, calibrations, inspections, and testing activities. Align, adjust, and calibrate avionics equipment according to approved specifications. Ensure that only tooling and equipment in current calibration is utilized for installation, repairs, or modifications of aircraft avionics/electronic systems. Test malfunctioning equipment and diagnose root causes using knowledge of electronic systems and components. Inspect and test aircraft communications components, navigation components, weather radar, auto pilot, compass systems, and accessories, certifying that all meet manufacturer’s specifications. Responsible for completing all reports, forms, and checklists as required, in accordance with company, government, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Perform other related duties and responsibilities based on experience and position requirements. QUALIFICATIONS   The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.   EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE   High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Minimum two years’ aircraft repair and maintenance experience in the last five (5) years.   COMMUNICATION SKILLS   Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, installation drawings, regulations, and professional journals. Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence and effectively present information to management, customers, and team members.   MATHEMATICAL SKILLS   Ability to apply mathematical concepts including percentages, proportions, and algebraic principles to technical applications.   REASONING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS   Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in written, mathematical, or diagram form. COMPUTER SKILLS   Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.   OTHER QUALIFICATIONS   Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Ramp Pass. FAA Airframe certificate preferred. Valid driver’s license required. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS   Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and use of hands. Regular lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.     EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS   Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment screenings, which may include a background check and drug screening, in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
