We are seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for commercial interior construction projects. This role is responsible for managing the estimating process from bid invitation through project handoff by reviewing construction documents, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, and developing complete cost estimates for drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, commercial flooring, and related interior finish systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial interior construction estimating, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams to deliver timely, accurate, and competitive proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial interior construction projects, including drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and related finish systems.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope and pricing requirements.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, project risks, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Prepare bid proposals, scope clarifications, pricing summaries, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, field personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
  • Maintain estimating databases, historical pricing, bid records, and project documentation.
  • Support project turnover by providing estimate reviews, budget information, scope clarifications, and pricing assumptions to operations teams.
  • Stay current on material pricing, labor trends, market conditions, and industry best practices to improve estimating accuracy.
  • Participate in post-bid reviews and recommend process improvements to strengthen future estimating performance.
  • 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior construction trades.
  • Commercial interior construction estimating experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and estimating practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
  • Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and preparing complete bid proposals.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
