Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Bethany Children's Health Center - Bethany, OK 73008Position Type: Full TimeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: Health CareJob Purpose The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services to pediatric patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA implements established plans of care, facilitates participation in self-care and meaningful daily activities, and supports the development of functional skills necessary for independence, safety, and quality of life. This position collaborates with patients, families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to achieve individualized rehabilitation goals and optimize patient outcomes within the Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit (PMRU).   Essential Duties & Responsibilities Duty Percent of Time Performs individualized treatment procedures in a professional and compassionate manner to maximize child’s performance. 50% Collaborates and communicates effectively with members of the patient care team; performs timely and accurate documentation, and stays up to date on the most recent occupational Therapy techniques through research and CE. 20% Helps identify need, orders, and/or fabricates appropriate therapeutic equipment as indicated by patient need. 15% Participates in staff trainings, student observations, clinical instruction of students and interns, and family training opportunities. 10% Other job duties as assigned. 5%   Qualifications  Education: Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Experience: Pediatric experience preferred License/Certification/Credential: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License from State of Oklahoma or proven eligibility for licensing within 3-6 months of employment with temporary license.
