West Liberty University is looking for a Financial Aid Assistant to join our team!

The Financial Aid Assistant is an essential member of the Financial Aid Office and serves as one of the first points of contact for students and families. In this role, you’ll help students navigate the financial aid process while supporting the accurate and timely administration of financial aid, scholarships, loans, and athletic aid.

What You'll Do
- Serve as a welcoming and helpful first point of contact for students, parents, and campus visitors.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and routine financial aid questions.
- Help students understand financial aid requirements, deadlines, documentation, and next steps.
- Schedule and manage financial aid appointments.
- Process undergraduate financial aid awards and assist with loan processing.
- Review and track financial aid documents, including verification and special circumstance materials.
- Follow up with students and families regarding outstanding requirements.
- Assist with private scholarships, COLCA Scholarships, and athletic aid.
- Prepare award letters, cancellation letters, and other financial aid correspondence.
- Maintain accurate records and document communications in Banner.
- Collaborate with other campus offices to support timely and accurate financial aid processing.
- Recognize when a situation requires specialized assistance and appropriately refer students to financial aid professionals.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student and family information.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Financial Aid Office.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to manage multiple routine responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Preferred:
- Administrative, clerical, office, or customer service experience.
- Higher education or financial aid experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office or similar computer applications.
