Company background: Bar-T was established in the 1960’s. Bar-T provides before and after school childcare throughout the Montgomery County area. Bar-T childcare centers are located in various public elementary schools, where we provide care to school age children in the mornings and afternoons. During the summer season, Bar-T provides day camp programs to kids throughout Montgomery and Frederick Counties.

 

Who are we looking to hire? Bar-T is always seeking employees who are passionate about providing a fun, safe place where kids can grow to become their own unique individuals. We support and encourage both a happy workplace and happy kids! The most common positions we hire for are “Child Care Aides” and “School Age Teachers”. Do you qualify for a School Age Teacher position with Bar-T?

Please take a moment to ensure you meet all of our “School Age Teacher” requirements

 

-Applicants must be 19 years old

-Applicants must possess their 90HR Certification

*The 90 HR School Age Certification is provided by various high schools and colleges in Maryland. The certificate consists of two 45 HR programs: School Age Development and School Age Methods and Materials. If you completed a child development program during high school, you may qualify for a 90HR certificate or a 45 hour certificate.

-Applicants must be able to transport themselves to and from all scheduled shifts

 

Note: If you meet some, but not all of the School Age Teacher requirements, you may qualify for a Bar-T “Childcare Aide” position instead. Please return to the main job posting home page and select a “Childcare Aide” posting that is located in close proximity to you.

 

 

Upon hire, all applicants must adhere to the following…

 

-Applicants must complete the following trainings as needed, throughout their employment (these trainings are provided by Bar-T at no cost to the employee)

  • CPR/First Aid

  • 3 HR Aide Orientation

  • Choppy Waters

-Applicants must be fingerprinted and pass a background check (Bar-T will provide this documentation and instructions on how to complete the process, upon hire)

-Applicants must agree and adhere to all Bar-T drug testing policies, as outlined in the employee handbook (Bar-T will provide this documentation upon hire)

-Applicants must complete a Maryland State Childcare Medical Form (Bar-T will provide the form upon hire)

Job Duties and Responsibilities

-Assist and supervise children at all times, to maintain a safe and positive environment.

-Communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff members, office/management staff, customers, school staff, parents, and children.

-Present a professional and positive image.

-Engage and with children at all times in a respectful positive manner.

-Create and implement age appropriate clubs, theme days, and games.

-Participate in and promote Bar-T events and activities at your center.
