We are looking for a Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team!

General Statement of Duties:
- Assist Supervisor and assume Supervisory duties as needed to oversee daily performance of all aspects of department testing.
- Assign workload to staff members, act as a resource to troubleshoot assay problems, troubleshoot customer (clinician/patient) calls, review Preventive Maintenance, Quality Control and assay performance
- Act as department trainer and assist methods development team when needed
- Applicant must possess the ability to access problems, promote a positive team spirit, communicate with clients, and work with the management to expand the General Laboratory Department scope of services.
- Technically able to aid in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease through lab testing
- Performs test pursuant to established and approved protocols requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility.

- Assure adequate staffing and scheduling
- Effectively communicates with Superiors, Peers and Subordinates. (Internally and Externally) Â
- Demonstrates professional work ethics (attendance, punctuality, appearance).
- Ensures effective inventory of supplies
- Demonstrates initiative with strong ability to Identify, analyze, and solve problems.
- Prioritizes assignments and meets deadlines effectively and efficiently.    Â
- Participates in the interviewing and hiring processes.
- Demonstrates leadership and coaching skills through team building.
- Timely reviews and evaluates staff Performance Appraisals      Â
- Ensures and documents staff competencies
- Provides access to continuing education and training tools as required. Assesses effectiveness of staff training.
- Monitors and evaluates productivity reports and follows up.
- Helps develop and implement departmental SOPMs with policies and procedures
- Continuously improves skills through education, lectures, seminars and classes.
- Ensures laboratory preparedness for audits and inspections. (CAP checklist & NYS requirements)
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Sciences consistent with NYÂ
State guidelines (NAACLS ACCREDITED, ASCP or NCA Eligible)
License: NYS
Experience: 4 years hospital experience required, prior lead or supervisory experience preferred  Or 2 years hospital experience and a Masters Degree OR 1 year hospital experience and a PhD.
Salary Range
USD $65.93 - USD $80.49 /Yr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
