Responsibilities

  • Perform Speech Therapy evaluation and development of the plan of care appropriate for each patient based on the patient’s physical, mental, emotional, and developmental impairments and functional limitations. A variety of diagnoses and possibility of all 3 settings served include but are not limited to communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Provide Speech Therapy interventions in accordance with established standards of care, policies, procedures, and state/federal law. Interventions may be related to but not limited to communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. 
  • Supervise and complete appropriate documentation for Speech Therapy students as assigned by CCCE.
  • Schedule Speech Therapy services according to department
  • Complete documentation in electronic medical record in a timely manner in accordance within department and professional expectations demonstrating the need for skilled interventions. 
  • Participate in patient care conferences/staffing as appropriate for multidisciplinary patients.  

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Speech Therapy program. 

 

Experience: 

  • 2 years’ experience as a Speech Therapist with both pediatrics and adults. 

 

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Current IA and/or IL Speech Therapy licensure (or eligible). 
  • Current CPR certification. 
  • Certification of Clinical Competency issued by ASHA within 1 year of hire. 

 

 

Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. Working knowledge of Epic.
