Retail ManagerÂ
SUMMARY
The Retail Manager is responsible for assisting with the management and operation of the Retail Outlets and the day-to-day functions that align with club’s long term goals and objectives, provide excellent customer service, and actively contribute to the Clubs requirements and standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
- Responsible for managing the inventory of all retail outlets at Spanish Peaks Mountain Club.
- Conduct a full inventory of all retail shops in May and October each season. Inventory shrinkage standards should be less than 1%.
- Make corrective inventory adjustments and write-off’s once gaining approval to do so by Director of Golf and Skier Services and Senior Controller.
- Input inventory using the Total Integrated Software in a timely fashion. Ensure the price paid through the invoice process reflects what is inputted into TEI Software.
- Responsible for Pricing and Tagging Items at consistent margin to improve profitability for the business while offering a fair price to the club’s customers.
- Assist in the purchasing of all merchandise, while gaining approval through Director of Golf and Skier Services prior to placing large orders over $2000.
- Work with the Aspire Outdoor Pursuits Team and the Tennis Professionals to gain feedback on retail purchases for the Aspire Shop within their area of expertise.
- Maintain a strategic amount of inventory on hand, ensuring a fully stocked attractive store, while not having an excess amount of inventory at the end of the season.
- Conduct a Spring and Fall sale to move current inventory prior to heading into the offseason.
- Place all member and guest “special orders” for items that are not in the retail spaces but are requested by customers.
- Help to achieve financial objectives by understanding the annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Create attractive merchandise displays, holding retail shop staff accountable to tidying up the retail shop every day.
- Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
- Place any necessary reorders in a timely fashion and follow up on any pending orders.
- Ensure all new products are on the floor in a timely manner and that back stock in clearly organized in the storage room.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school or equivalent education required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two to three years’ experience in retail management
- Strong emphasis in customer service
- Exceptional guest recovery skills
- Must possess a positive attitude
- Must be willing to participate in a learning environment
- Must integrate company values throughout all interactions
- Must be dependable and available to work within the club on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Must be able to lift at least 50lb boxes. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
