Job Summary: Responsible for obtaining diagnostic quality sonographic images according to pre-established guidelines.  Schedules and observes time-management techniques according to departmental productivity and efficiency standards while observing a quality patient care experience.

Education: Graduate of a sonographer program.  

Experience: One (1) year of clinical Sonogram Technology experience in an acute care setting is preferred.  

Licenses/Certificates: Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) (or within 12 months of hire into the department).  BLS Certification is required (or within 30 days of hire into the department).

Responsibilities

  1.  Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome. 
  2.  Monitors qualify control of equipment and participates in continuing qualify improvement in the assigned division. 
  3.  Communicates patien1/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider. 
  4.  Practices within legal, ethical and professional boundaries 
  5.  Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, clinical/quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. 
  6.  Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.



Qualifications

Required Education:   High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Education:  Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program

Required Licensure: Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or registry eligible and complete registry within 4 months of employment.
