As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time Patrol Driver Response in Birmingham, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out site-specific procedures, security-related policies, and emergency response activities at utility facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, perimeter areas, and critical infrastructure locations, documenting observations and irregular conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and public emergency responders when needed.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and assist with visitor and contractor entry procedures in accordance with site requirements.
• Carry and maintain authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws, and post orders; complete accurate reports, logs, and incident documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
