Diesel Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Ingles Markets is looking for a Diesel Mechanic for its transportation fleet located in Black Mountain, NC. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will:

• Work in a garage doing mechanic work on the fleet’s diesel engine machinery and tractor trailers.
• Weld and use hand tools and equipment to make repairs.

Compensation Information:

• Pay starting at $22.00/hr.
• Multiple shifts - shift differential may apply.
• Additional certification pay may apply.
• Start earning Paid Time Off day 1 (FT).

Employment Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Will conduct a Criminal Background Check.
• Must pass an E-Verify Screening.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to bend and stoop for short to moderate periods of time.
• Ability to lift light to moderate weight.
• Must be able to climb upon a tractor to make repairs.
• Must be able to work overhead and from underneath a tractor or trailer.
• Stand on concrete floors.

Experience

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must want to work and have excellent attendance.
• Experience working in a garage doing mechanic work.
• 2 years of experience in tractor or trailer maintenance is preferred.
• ASE master certification in brakes preferred. Additional certification pay may apply.
