We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Software Developer III – Embedded Software to join an engineering team supporting a US-based embedded software project in Bloomfield, Connecticut, with development and delivery from Bangalore, India. This role is well suited for fresh graduates and early-career software engineers who are passionate about embedded systems, low-level programming, and developing software that interacts closely with hardware.
You will work as part of a cross-functional product engineering team, contributing to the design, development, debugging, integration, and maintenance of embedded software. The position provides an opportunity to work on real-world embedded products while collaborating with engineers across software, hardware, testing, and product engineering functions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software using C++ and Embedded C.
- Develop efficient, reliable, and maintainable code for resource-constrained embedded environments.
- Work closely with hardware and system engineers to understand product requirements and translate them into software solutions.
- Perform close-to-hardware debugging, troubleshooting software defects and identifying root causes across hardware-software interfaces.
- Analyze software issues using debugging tools, logs, traces, and other diagnostic techniques.
- Apply strong data structures and programming fundamentals to develop robust and optimized software components.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and software verification activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues and deliver software according to project requirements.
- Contribute to software documentation, technical specifications, development processes, and defect tracking.
- Support continuous improvement of software quality, performance, reliability, and development practices.
- Strong programming knowledge in C++.
- Hands-on or academic experience with Embedded C.
- Good understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and fundamental software engineering concepts.
- Ability to analyze problems, debug code, and develop structured technical solutions.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong willingness to learn embedded technologies and work on hardware-oriented software development.
- Experience or familiarity with RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems).
- Working knowledge of Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Understanding of ARM architecture and ARM-based embedded systems.
- Familiarity with embedded debugging tools, compilers, debuggers, and version-control systems.
- Exposure to software development and testing within a product engineering environment.
- Experience: 0–5 years in software or embedded software development.
- Fresh graduates with strong C/C++ fundamentals and relevant academic projects are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with up to 2 years of hands-on embedded development experience will be particularly suitable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
