HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…

As a Sanitation Coordinator, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, quality, and workplace safety throughout the facility. In this hands-on leadership position, you will coordinate daily sanitation activities, support department operations, drive compliance with food safety programs, and help ensure production equipment and facility areas are cleaned and maintained to company and regulatory standards. You will also serve as a key backup to Sanitation Leadership, providing direction and support across shifts as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…

  • Lead and direct sanitation team members, including Machine Cleaners, Building Cleaners, Helpers, Temporary Associates, and Part-Time Employees.

  • Coordinate daily sanitation activities to meet production schedules, preventive maintenance requirements, and emergency cleaning needs.

  • Conduct shift meetings and communicate priorities, safety expectations, and department updates.

  • Train, coach, and develop employees while supporting performance management activities, including evaluations and disciplinary documentation.

  • Assist with staffing, attendance tracking, overtime management, vacation scheduling, and workforce planning.

  • Develop, update, and maintain Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and support sanitation program validation efforts.

  • Coordinate completion of the Master Sanitation Schedule and maintain accurate records in manual and computerized systems.

  • Monitor and report sanitation KPIs, prioritize work based on business needs, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Perform sanitation audits and inspections to verify compliance with policies, SSOPs, corrective actions, and food safety standards.

  • Investigate sanitation deficiencies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Support and ensure compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP, Environmental Monitoring, Pest Control, Allergen Control, and other prerequisite food safety programs.

  • Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to achieve plant objectives and support operational needs.

  • Monitor external contractors to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

  • Review and respond to schedules, emails, reports, and operational communications in a timely manner.

  • Conduct job-specific training and verify employee compliance with sanitation procedures and plant programs.

  • Perform visual inspections, environmental swabbing, and chemical titrations as required.

  • Supply team members with appropriate tools, equipment, chemicals, and materials needed to complete assigned work.

  • Perform daily and deep cleaning of equipment, machinery, and facility structures using approved sanitation practices.

  • Complete and maintain accurate sanitation, attendance, and compliance documentation.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sanitation effectiveness, efficiency, and food safety performance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 1+ years of experience in sanitation, manufacturing, food production, or a related environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience directing, coaching, or training employees.

  • Knowledge of sanitation processes, cleaning chemicals, and food safety requirements.

  • Ability to follow and enforce SSOPs, GMPs, HACCP principles, and safety procedures.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports.

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as business needs require.

  • Ability to safely perform physical job requirements, including standing for extended periods, climbing, reaching, lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in industrial environments.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Associate degree from an accredited college, technical school, or related educational program.

  • Experience in food manufacturing, food safety, or sanitation leadership roles.

  • Working knowledge of SAP Manufacturing, Kronos TimeKeeper, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and other manufacturing systems.

  • Experience managing sanitation audits, environmental monitoring programs, allergen controls, or pest control programs.

  • Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory food safety standards.

  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and implementing sanitation process enhancements.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and supporting plant-wide operational goals.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing and walking on concrete floors throughout the shift.

  • Regular climbing, reaching, bending, crouching, and handling equipment and sanitation tools.

  • Ability to work in wet environments with varying temperatures and elevated noise levels.

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, machinery, and industrial equipment while utilizing required PPE.

  • Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Pay: $31.35 per hour

  • Shift: 3rd Shift 10:00PM-6:00AM

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
