This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures. 

 

 

 

The Safety Associate III will track analysis of various safety programs within the plant and identify improvements, deliver and assist with safety training, investigate safety incidents, maintain/order safety supplies and complete monthly safety inspections with minimal guidance or support. In this role, you will complete analysis, trainings and evaluations to reduce injuries and other risk factors to maintain and increase the overall safety and productivity of the plant.

Compensation: $ 21.95 - 37.50/hr, based on work experience

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Deliver and assist with the development of safety training as assigned per Cargill and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements through conducting the training or facilitating and tracking completion.  Serve as site training coordinator.
  • Track worksite analysis, conduct worksite evaluation of hazard assessments and improvements to reduce risk factors.
  • Investigate safety incidents and identify and track accountability for closure on action items.
  • Track leading indicators to reduce injuries, identify trends and potential actions for annual Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) plans, and maintain/order safety supplies
  • Play a lead role in monthly plant inspections and coordinate the execution of all safety related items identified during the inspection.
  • Assist site with implementation on various EHS initiatives.
  • Assist site with EHS procedure updating.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

What you will need

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years equivalent work experience
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator 
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
