About Hometown Veterinary Partners

Hometown Veterinary Partners is a multi-location veterinary hospital group built on a simple belief: great medicine happens when great local teams are given the support to do their best work. Our hospitals span Illinois, Minnesota, Florida, South Carolina, Missouri and Massachusetts. We're pursuing our growth strategy with expanding acquisitions in our current geographic footprint.

The Role

We're looking for a Business Development to help drive growth in our current geographic footprint. This position is full-time based out of HVP's Minnesota office. Your responsibilities will be driving HVP's acquisition pipeline, identifying, evaluating, and acquiring veterinary practices into the HVP enterprise.

You'll work closely with our corporate operations and finance teams, and you'll have visibility into conversations with HVP's investors and PE sponsors as new opportunities take shape. This role is a strong fit for someone who is equally comfortable building relationships in local markets and sitting across the table evaluating a potential acquisition, with occasional travel to HVP hospital markets for potential acquisition visits, and community events.

What You'll Do

Acquisition & Partnership Pipeline

•      Identify and source potential veterinary practice acquisition and partnership candidates across current and target HVP markets

•      Conduct initial outreach and relationship-building with independent practice owners considering a partnership or sale

•      Support deal evaluation by gathering practice-level data, coordinating due diligence, and preparing summary materials for leadership and investor review

•      Help manage the acquisition pipeline — tracking prospective deals, next steps, and status across multiple opportunities at once

•      Collaborate with finance and operations colleagues to ensure a smooth handoff and onboarding process for newly acquired hospitals

Cross-Functional Collaboration

•      Partner with HVP's corporate operations team to align local BD efforts with company-wide growth goals and KPI frameworks

•      Contribute to materials and talking points used in investor and PE sponsor updates related to growth strategy

•      Build trusted relationships with hospital teams so that BD efforts feel like genuine partnership, not a corporate mandate

What You Bring

•      3+ years of experience in business development, practice/partnership development, sales, or a related relationship-driven role; veterinary, animal health, or healthcare services experience strongly preferred

•      Comfort working across both relationship-building (local/community) and analytical (deal evaluation, pipeline tracking) parts of a BD role

•      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — you build trust quickly with independent practice owners, hospital teams, and community partners alike

•      Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple relationships and opportunities in parallel

•      Based full-time in HVP's Minnesota office, with some travel to HVP markets for partner meetings, due diligence visits, and community events

What Success Looks Like

•      A well-organized, actively managed acquisition pipeline with clear next steps on each opportunity

•      Independent practice owners who feel genuinely understood and well-served throughout the partnership conversation, whether or not a deal closes

•      Strong, trusted working relationships with potential sellers and the corporate team

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives tied to local growth and pipeline milestones. Benefits package and full compensation details provided upon offer.
