About Bay Road Insurance Partners
Bay Road Insurance Partners is a technology-enabled retail insurance agency that serves individuals and small businesses in the Southeast. Our vision is straightforward: build a best-in-class insurance organization by being the acquirer of choice for local agencies, invest in profitable organic growth and provide our team with the tools they need to be successful. We are backed by the Brydon Group, a veteran-led private equity fund based in Washington, DC.
The Opportunity
Fulton Agency and Marlins Agency, two Bay Road partner agencies, are combining into a single large office, and we're seeking an Agency Manager to lead that transition. Reporting to the VP of Sales, this individual will be accountable for the combined office's sales performance, retention, and day-to-day management, while also personally producing as one of the office's top Personal Lines sales professionals.
This is a hands-on leadership and production role. The right individual leads by example, maintains meaningful personal production, brings an established referral network, and coaches the sales team to improve their performance.
Core Responsibilities
Personal Production & Referral Network:
- Maintain meaningful personal new-business production and perform as one of the office’s leading producers.
- Generate new business leads by leveraging an established network of referral partners (e.g., mortgage brokers, realtors, BNI) and developing new relationships within the local community.
- Maintain an active pipeline and consistently follow up on sales opportunities.
- Cross-sell existing clients and identify opportunities to increase policies per customer.
- Model the sales behaviors, activity, follow-up, and accountability expected from the rest of the team.
Team Leadership & Agency Performance:
- Manage the Fulton and Marlins teams through the transition and ultimately lead the combined large office.
- Implement and reinforce Bay Road’s sales performance standards; monitor producer activity and results, providing consistent coaching on prospecting, quoting, closing, cross-selling, and referral development.
- Identify performance issues early, develop clear improvement plans, and coordinate with Sales Leadership and HR when formal performance management is necessary.
- Monitor attendance, reliability, and adherence to workplace expectations, and build a positive, competitive, accountable sales culture.
- Monitor overall office new-business production and sales activity, including new-business premium, policies written, quotes, outbound activity, close ratios, and policies per customer.
- Monitor retention, renewal activity, pending cancellations, and cross-sell opportunities, and help identify trends affecting agency growth and profitability.
- Participate in weekly performance reviews and monthly business reviews, and ensure employees understand both their individual expectations and the goals of the office.
Operational Leadership:
- Ensure established agency workflows and processes are followed across the team.
- Oversee effective utilization of VAs and other support resources, and work closely with Sales Leadership, Operations, Finance, and HR to resolve issues and maintain accountability.
- Help integrate Fulton and Marlins into a consistent operating structure, and bring workflow or process recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure responsibilities are appropriately delegated rather than personally performed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven track record as a high-performing personal lines insurance producer with a demonstrated ability to consistently generate new business.
- Have an existing network of active referral partners and willingness to actively participate in local networking groups like BNI.
- Previous experience managing, coaching, or developing insurance sales professionals.
- Strong knowledge of Florida-based personal lines insurance partners and carriers; commercial lines knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to balance meaningful personal production with management responsibilities.
- Hold an active Florida 2-20 insurance license.
- Comfortable working with comparative raters, carrier portals, agency management systems, and performance reporting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a full-time position with a competitive base salary, uncapped personal production commission, and management incentive potential.
- This position is eligible for employee benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as paid holidays and paid time off.
