Description:

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is looking to hire a Telemetry Monitor Technician to join our incredible team.

About this department: This position is on our Telemetry floor located at our Regional Medical Center off I-184 and Curtis Rd. The Boise Telemetry department serves a patient population ranging 16 years of age to 100+ years who primarily have cardiac conditions, non-hemorrhagic stroke conditions, or rapid responses from other departments within the hospital. This department is unique because it operates as a progressive care unit rather than a 'med-surg' unit. This team serves approximately 650 patients monthly. A typical colleague schedule consists of working three 12-hour shifts. Working for this department means working in a fast-paced environment that often hires candidates who are hoping to advance their career.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • You will provide cardiac monitoring for patients who are on heart monitors and general unit clerk support for the clinical staff on the Telemetry Unit.

  • Communicates effectively with team members, patients, and their families regarding patient information, messages, and medical documentation.  Facilitates smooth operation of the unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk required.

  • Previous hospital or medical office experience preferred. 

  • Basic Medical Terminology and Anatomy.  Advanced classes in Medical Terminology and Anatomy preferred.
