Job DetailsJob Location: Borden, IN 47106Position Type: Full TimePosition Summary The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations across Huber’s Orchard & Winery. This role ensures that facilities, agricultural equipment, mechanical systems, infrastructure, and guest-facing environments are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance. The Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance team, develops preventative maintenance programs, and plays a critical role in supporting farm operations, winery production, retail spaces, event venues, and agritourism attractions. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to safety and operational reliability. Key Responsibilities Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance associates and technicians. Develop work schedules and assign daily tasks. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and responsiveness. Provide hands-on leadership and support during complex repairs or high-demand periods. Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs. Oversee repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, structural systems, and mechanical components. Ensure minimal downtime of critical systems and equipment. Oversee maintenance and repair of tractors, farm equipment, utility vehicles, small engines, and operational machinery. Coordinate with the Farm Manager regarding agricultural equipment needs. Ensure safe operation and timely servicing of all machinery. Enforce OSHA standards and workplace safety protocols. Ensure proper chemical storage, equipment guarding, and hazard mitigation. Conduct routine safety inspections and correct potential hazards. Maintain emergency response readiness for power outages, storms, and equipment failures. QualificationsQualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, mechanical systems, or facilities management. Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Experience maintaining agricultural equipment preferred. Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Exposure to weather conditions, machinery, and physical labor. Extended hours may be required during harvest, festivals, and peak agritourism seasons. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
