Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
As a Dietary Aide, you’ll work alongside our culinary and dietary team to help keep meals and dining services running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Cook with meal preparation and meal service.
- Preparing meals and beverages according to established procedures.
- Setting up dining areas and serving meals to residents.
- Assisting with tray cards, meal trays, and food carts.
- Accurately recording meals served and monitoring food temperatures.
- Washing, sanitizing, and properly storing dishes, utensils, and dietary equipment.
- Maintaining clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.
- Following established cleaning schedules and food safety procedures.
- Properly labeling, dating, storing, and rotating food and supplies.
- Assisting with receiving and storing food and dietary supplies.
- Following recipes, diet orders, tray cards, and assigned work routines.
- Following infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Reporting equipment, supply, maintenance, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Providing friendly and respectful service to residents and their families.
- Participating in department meetings, training, and in-service education.
- Supporting the Dietary Department with other duties and special assignments as needed.

Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
You don’t need years of healthcare experience to make a difference in this role. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, team-oriented, and takes pride in providing excellent service.
Ideal candidates will have:

- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Employment Certificate/Permit required for applicable individuals
- Previous food service, hospitality, dietary, or healthcare experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow recipes, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
- Basic numerical skills for recipe preparation and measurements.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A patient, respectful, and positive approach when working with residents, families, and coworkers.
- Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Flexibility to work the schedule needed to support our residents and Dietary Department.
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
