Position Overview: The Product Manager, Defense is responsible for leading the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of NSA's Defense, Government, Postal and Corporate USA Made product categories. This role translates end-user and market insights into prioritized product opportunities, partners cross-functionally to bring compliant, high-performance products to market, and serves as NSA's subject matter expert for Defense and Government apparel needs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and manage a 3-year product roadmap across Military, Government, and Corporate USA Made product categories.
  • Own the new product idea pipeline, including intake, evaluation, prioritization, stage-gate recommendations, and visibility to launch timing and resources.
  • Gather and translate end-user, field evaluator, sales, and market insights into actionable product requirements and innovation opportunities.
  • Engage with military personnel, program offices, tactical users, and field evaluators through field visits, wear trials, and feedback sessions to validate product performance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, design, sourcing, manufacturing, and leadership to prioritize initiatives and support product positioning, pricing, launch planning, and go-to-market execution.
  • Ensure products meet or exceed unique military approvals and branch- or unit-defined requirements, including Berry Amendment, NIR, FR, and other applicable performance standards.
  • Maintain awareness of military modernization priorities, procurement trends, defense programs, tactical equipment markets, and capability gaps, and serve as the internal subject matter expert for Defense and Government products.

Training: Provided on the job and supplemented with external seminars/classes as needed

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred                       

Experience: 5-7 years' experience in business, product, product development, and/or marketing in B2B or B2C businesses. Military and Government industry experience required.

Ability to travel 25-30% to participate in trade shows, field travel and customer visits.
