Job Description Summary:

-7:30am-4:00 pm

Come join our Cardiology Team! This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy the field of Cardiology, while working in a supportive environment alongside the top Cardiologists! In this role, you will be cross-trained to support Cardiac Imaging and Interventional Cardiology patients. You will be joining a team of Providers to complete rounding on hospitalized patients that are transitioning to outpatient care. With an average of 23 patients each day, this role offers a dynamic environment where you can utilize your cardiac and/or critical care experience without being in bedside nursing.

A typical day includes: Completing hospital rounds with the Cardiology team ensuring both the inpatient and the outpatient care plans are completed, obtain consent forms, work on inpatient and outpatient orders and complete discharge orders and follow-up on appointments. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring all cardiac patient needs are met and all labs have progressed in the system without delay.

This position provides inpatient nursing care to patients and families along the health-illness continuum while collaborating with the rounding physician and associated health care team. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the state statutes. The RN delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities And Duties:

1. Obtains and maintains an accurate patient census works with referring providers to determine patients to be seen. Also collaborates with physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure patient care is delivered in a timely fashion.

2. Supports and assists rounding process under the supervision of the rounding physician.

3. Obtains and reviews medical records, labs and other pertinent patient data for rounding providers on the service to aide in assessment, diagnosis and plan of care. Retrieves outside records if requested by the rounding physician.

4. Assists with discharge process and scheduling testing and follow up as needed

5. May function as a scribe per the hospital medical staff by-laws as directed by the physician.

6. Serves as triage RN with incoming patient and referring provider calls. Directs patients as needed
