About the Role

About the Team

The Global Corporate Security team at Wellington protects the firm’s people, assets, and operations globally. This includes physical access controls, physical security standards & training, workforce screening, investigations, global threat intelligence, travel risk management, and incident response.

Position Overview

The Security Operations Manager is an experienced leader responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and continuous enhancement of the firm’s physical security and GSOC capabilities. This critical role, which reports directly to the Head of Global Corporate Security, ensures the effective delivery of global monitoring, incident response, intelligence coordination, and security operations in support of enterprise risk management, business continuity, and employee safety priorities.

This individual will manage physical security operations across the firm’s global footprint, partnering closely with Global Real Estate and Facilities, IT, HR, Legal & Compliance, InfoSec & Cyber Defense, and Operational Resilience, among other teams. The individual will also build strong relationships with landlord management, security service providers, and law enforcement communities to strengthen the firm’s security posture.

Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited to

  • Lead and optimize GSOC operations to deliver intelligence-led, risk-based security services that protect Wellington’s people, assets, operations, and reputation.
  • Develop operational roadmaps and frameworks aligned to enterprise risk, crisis management, travel security, and business continuity priorities.
  • Standardize SOPs, playbooks, KPIs, SLAs, escalation protocols, and process controls across GSOC operations.
  • Oversee 24/7 monitoring, incident triage, escalation, mass notification support, traveler accountability, and response coordination.
  • Use data, after-action reviews, root-cause analysis, and lessons learned to refine processes and improve response effectiveness.
  • Build and coach a high-performing GSOC team grounded in ownership, sound judgment, communication and accountability.
  • Partner closely with counterparts across the firm to effectively respond to incidents and drive improvements in physical security operations.
  • Design event security plans and oversee security for major firm events, working closely with Events, Marketing and Executive Management.
  • Coordinate security measures as needed for executives and senior leaders both locally and while traveling.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in security operations, GSOCs, command center management, incident response, protective services, emergency management, military, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • 3+ years managing a team of corporate security or GSOC professionals.
  • Experience and comfort managing security programs for a global company and interfacing with senior leaders across different countries, time zones and cultures.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Security Management, Criminal Justice, National Security, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Strong experience managing guard forces, drafting SOPs/post orders, and ensuring compliance with operational standards. 
  • Experience coordinating event security and working with venue managers or building management. 
  • Deep knowledge of access control (Lenel, Avigilon or similar) and CCTV (Milestone, Verkada or similar) technology.
  • Experience with other security tools such threat intelligence, mass notification and case management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting site surveys and risk assessments. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; confidence speaking to leadership. 
  • Proven experience managing vendors, schedules, budgets, and operational workflows. 
  • Strong judgment, analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to make timely decisions in dynamic operational environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills, including concise reporting, stakeholder briefings, and professional communication during critical incidents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in security management, Criminal Justice, National Security, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience collaborating with corporate real estate or facilities teams on a regular basis. 
  • CPP, PSP, CFE, CFI, or equivalent physical security or investigative credentials. 
  • Work or academic experience in geopolitical analysis, specifically as it relates to trend forecasting and security assessments.
  • International work experience in support of security initiatives in either the private or public sector.

The base salary range for this position is:

USD 90,000 - 180,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.   

 

Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
