The Stabilization Worker supports families transitioning from shelter to permanent housing by providing ongoing assistance for up to 24 months to ensure housing stability and preventing recurrence of homelessness. The role also involves establishing relationships within the local community and making appropriate referrals to services and resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide services in compliance with the agency, programs, funder policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Develop and implement a stabilization plan, updating as necessary every 30 days documenting all efforts and meetings on ETO software.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landlords, management companies and public housing staff to help stabilize family on housing and to help keep other housing opportunities accessible to Catholic Charity clients.
  • Provide home visits, in-office support, and phone support to all stabilization clients. Ensure monthly check-ins, with in-person visits occurring at least every two months.
  • Promote children's wellbeing by maintaining regular communication with their parents and/or school staff, and by seeing the children in person on a consistent basis.
  • Work is performed in an office setting and in the community, including home visits. 
  • Intervene if tenancy is endangered for any reason.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality with employees and residents.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred along with relevant experience; an equivalent combination of education, experience and knowledge will also be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as needed.
  • Attention to detail with excellent written documentation, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in unsupervised settings (community).
  • Bi-lingual preferred.

The base pay range reflects what Catholic Charities reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation in this range may be determined based on other factors, including but not limited to work experience, education and specialty training.
