Position Overview:
NEC Prep is seeking one dedicated and motivated Teaching Associate to support our Early Childhood Education classes during the upcoming academic year. The TA will play a crucial role in assisting with class preparation, and providing active instructional support during class.
The position will be held from 9/19/2026 – 5/17/2027, is part-time hourly, is compensated at $28.52 per hour and will be 3.5 hours on Saturday mornings.

Essential Functions of the Role
- Assist instructors in preparing classroom setup and lesson materials.
- Support classroom activities during the 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM time slot on Saturday mornings, including direct teaching at 9:00 AM.
- Collaborate with instructors to create engaging and enriching learning experiences.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Characteristics:
Candidates should bring many of the following skill sets and experiences:
- Strong passion for music education and a genuine interest in working and learning within an early childhood setting with infants, toddlers and their caregivers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Suzuki training is not required for this position.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to varying teaching situations.
- Dependable and punctual with a commitment to fulfilling the weekly schedule.

Schedule and Compensation

- Hours: 3.5 hours/week, Saturday mornings
- Location: On Campus at New England Conservatory in Boston, MA
