Stephens Memorial Hospital is currently seeking to hire a Family Nurse Practitioner or a Physical Assistant to work in the Walk-in Clinic on a PRN or as needed basis. 


The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing primary and specialty healthcare to patients, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering laboratory tests, prescribing medications, and managing health conditions.


• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.

• Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.

• Discusses case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.

• Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician.

• Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.

• Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements


• Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

• Must be registered and have current DEA, DPS and other certificates to legally operate as practitioner in the State of Texas.
