Position Summary

Connestee Falls Property Owners Association (CFPOA) is a semi-private, member-owned community located in Brevard, North Carolina, encompassing more than 3,900 acres of private property. General Statement of Duties: Maintains daily records of amounts owed by members and receipts from all sources, including member assessments, property fees, rental of boat slips and RV spaces, amenity membership fees, golf merchandise, and fees for rounds played, food and beverage sales, and others.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Post all payments and other receipts to proper accounts.
  • Audit daily Golf Reports/F&B Reports/Wellness Reports
  • Prepare cash deposits/ take cash deposits to bank as needed
  • Post member charges, post finance charges, post annual assessments, etc...
  • Prepare monthly member statements and take to the print shop for distribution
  • Deposits all checks via Remote Image Capture system.
  • Provides information to attorneys for real estate closings.
  • Handles member inquiries regarding their accounts.
  • Prepares check requests for reimbursement of overpayments from members.
  • Research all Merchant Services (credit card) chargebacks.
  • Keeps backup detail records used in annual audits.
  • Properly files all materials for quick retrieval.
  • Maintains records in proper manner to protect member privacy.
  • Maintains the boat slip and RV wait list and assignment of spaces and billing of members
  • Calculate & bill the amenity fee for improved properties, reference the Board Policy Manual for guidance
  • Post CFPOA lot sales and lot combination sales
  • Monitor ownership changes by collecting any balance due on previous owner, deactivating after balance is $0. 
  • Setup new billing services for new owners
  • Calculate & bill assessment differentials 
  • Maintain detailed notes in the member files
  • Follows Board Policies and Accounting policies relevant to the position
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Finance.

 Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to use a 10-key calculator.
  • Must be able to use accounting software
  • Must have a five to seven years of billing and accounting experience

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. 

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5 (40 hours a week with full-time benefits)
