Job DetailsJob Location: R E Campus S07 - Bridgeton, NJ 08302Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $2,600.00 - $2,750.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: Road WarriorJOB FUNCTION: Responsible for the coordination, training and reporting requirements for the Nutrition component of the Head Start program in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards and other licensing standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works with the Vice President of EHS/HS, Planning Department, and Finance Department to prepare and submit the CACFP sponsor management plan(s). Works with the Child/Family Site Directors to provide supervision to staff providing food service including, but not limited to training, monitoring, hiring, disciplining, and terminations. Recruits and manages, as per CACFP regulations, food vendors. Applies for and coordinates the commodities program, including submitting required documents and working with the Purchasing Associate to store and deliver commodities. Works with Vice President and Director of Program Services to ensure parents and Policy Council have a voice in decision making as it relates to the nutrition program. Responds to nutrition referrals as needed at request of Health Manager and takes appropriate action. Connects Health management staff to registered dietician or dietary tech for referrals as needed. Monitors CACFP program including site visits, meal counts, and all required documents. Works with Child/Family Site Directors, Program Quality Team, Director Program Services and Directors of Operations to ensure full compliance with CACFP. Ensures implementation of Family Style meal service. Trains staff on nutritionally and developmentally appropriate approaches to working with young children. Provides nutritional resources both directly and indirectly through parent-teacher conferences and home visits as needed. Assists centers in arranging visits from agencies such as WIC, SNAP, and other nutrition programs in cooperation with the Health Manager. Serves on the Dietetic Internship Advisory Committee at Inspira. Provides supervision to dietetic interns. Responsible for nutrition training. Develops, conducts, or facilitates staff training as appropriate. Coordinates with Child/Family Site Directors and Community Resources Manager to implement parent education activities and trainings. Reviews and coordinates request for meals for field trips. Submits Monthly Nutrition team reports as required. Work with facilities team and Administrative Coordinator to ensure centers have current sanitation certificates. Visits every cooking center regularly ensuring full compliance with health department codes as well as state licensing and Head Start regulations. Ensures the development of menus based on Head Start Performance Standards and CACFP guidelines using commodities and vendors. Works with infant-toddler classrooms to ensure appropriate menus for infants including selection of formulas and introduction of solid food. Ensures staff communicate regarding allergies and food preferences, per Head Start and CACFP regulations. Ensures menus are distributed to all centers prior to implementation. Works with Child Care Partnership Coordinator and Director of Program Options to ensure child care menus are appropriate and that family style is implemented. Ensures the safety of all children by participating in monitoring of center, implementation of child safety procedures, reporting accidents, reporting child abuse or neglect, following Standards of Conduct, and reporting any child health/safety concern to supervisor Maintains Inventory of all kitchen and cold storage orders and food needed for menu. Perform all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION: Registered Dietician or Dietary Tech preferred; or has equivalent education in health and nutrition. Has supervisory experience.
