POSITION TITLE: MECHANIC II

DPW – SEWER DIVISION

AFSCME LOCAL 1700 – GRADE 10

FULL-TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK)

FULL PAY RANGE: $31.3171 TO $42.0966 PER HOUR

HIRING PAY RANGE: $31.3171 TO $34.5712

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment.
  • Consults Assistant Superintendent regarding preventative maintenance program.
  • Inspect plant and mechanical equipment for malfunctions and needed repairs.
  • Shall be capable of using and maintaining all tools and equipment used in the Department.
  • Shall be familiar with all safety equipment used in the Department.
  • Is required to keep all electrical equipment such as motors, generators, motor starters, etc. in operating conditions
  • Willingness to fill in and be involved with plant operations and collection systems.
  • Hours are 40 hours per week; emergency overtime as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability and knowledge in maintenance of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, buildings, structures and grounds
  • Knowledge of processes and equipment involved in Wastewater Treatment, compost operation, sewer system and pump stations

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School or Trade School education or equivalent training or experience
