About the Role:
VMS Security Services is looking for a skilled Alarm Service Technician to join our growing team in Farmingville, NY. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a critical part in keeping homes and businesses safe by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting alarm and security systems. If you're technically minded and passionate about security, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and configure residential and commercial alarm and security systems
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system testing
- Diagnose and troubleshoot alarm system malfunctions and equipment failures
- Repair or replace faulty components including sensors, control panels, and keypads
- Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Educate customers on proper system operation and best practices
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts inventory
Requirements:
- Prior experience installing or servicing alarm, fire, or security systems preferred
- Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, control panels, and intrusion detection systems
- NYS Alarm Installer License or ability to obtain one is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily service schedule
