Position Details Department: Family Practice Reports To: Family Practice Medical Director FLSA Status: Exempt Supervisory Responsibilities: None Job Summary The Staff Physician provides comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, regardless of gender or condition, on a continuing basis. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe, efficient, and effective clinical care. The physician prepares accurate medical records and reports in accordance with established procedures and participates in patient care reviews, staff meetings, and professional activities as appropriate. Collaboration with leadership and adherence to organizational standards are essential to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Examine patients to diagnose conditions and support preventive health practices. Obtain and document comprehensive medical histories. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, analyses, and imaging studies. Analyze findings to diagnose patient conditions. Prescribe and administer appropriate treatments and medications. Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention. Develop and recommend care plans, including diet and activity modifications. Administer immunizations and vaccinations. Perform procedures within scope of competency. Refer patients to specialists when necessary. Supervise, mentor, and serve as a preceptor to family practice residents. Ensure compliance with CDBG-CV program requirements, including HUD reporting and eligible activity guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation / Licensure / Certification Qualifications Minimum Requirements Licensed physician by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Board eligible in Family Practice or Internal Medicine; board certification preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinical setting. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards. Strong organizational and self-management skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Ability to provide culturally competent care to diverse populations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Spanish language proficiency (basic conversational and clinical) strongly preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex medical and regulatory documents. Physical Demands The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made. Occasional standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands for handling equipment. Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
