Service Technician - ORBITALUM

Job Description:

Position Overview:

Orbitalum, an ITW company, currently has an opening for a Service Technician in its Brownsville, TX repair facility.

This dynamic person will be expected to perform a variety of operations involving equipment assembly, component replacement, inventory management, technical training, shipping/receiving and computer related tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform computer related tasks such as order entry, inventory transactions, and shipping paperwork
• Perform repairs and rebuilds on customer equipment, including installation of components and testing
• Maintain repair facility, inventory, and the equipment needed to test machines
• Travel to customers for on-site training and diagnostics
• Use company provided work truck to deliver/pick up machines
• Travel to customers for repair and service of machines in the field
• Log equipment in and out of the system via serials, ensuring accurate tracking of customer information
• Work independently to prioritize tasks and meet service deadlines
• Complete and enter repair estimates for customer-owned equipment
• Communicate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and ensure timely service completion
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
• Additional duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• HS diploma, GED and/or 1 year of relevant experience
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Aptitude with various power tools preferred.
• Ability to communicate with others and problem-solve as necessary
• Good communication skills
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work independently
• Basic computer skills/knowledge of Office, Word and Excel computer programs

Compensation Information:

Compensation range - $22.30-$30.20/hr; based on experience.
