Job DetailsJob Location: Buckhannon, WV 26201Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School/GEDJob Shift: AnyJob Objective: The General Maintenance and Repair Worker works as part of the CCWV facilities team under the direction and guidance of the Project/Safety Coordinator, sharing responsibility for the various tasks related to building maintenance and general operations. The General Maintenance and Repair Worker carries out general repairs, light maintenance, landscaping, and property upkeep and will assist the Project/Safety Coordinator as necessary in various duties, including aspects of employee safety and coordination of emergency responses. Travel between CCWV's locations is required. Responsibilities and Essential Duties: • Perform minor repairs and maintenance daily, as needed, including addressing any lighting, plumbing, and related facility needs. • Perform landscaping and upkeep, including grass cutting and snow removal. • Maintain landscaping equipment, including annual oil changes and upkeep of riding mower(s), push mower(s), weed eaters, and 4-wheeler(s). • Assist housekeeping staff in housekeeping duties as necessary to supplement coverage needs. • Administer the collection and disposal of medical/hazardous waste. • Vent sprinkler system monthly or as needed. • Maintain septic tanks, performing a weekly status check on pumps, ps/chlorine tests, and drain as appropriate on a three (3) month schedule. • Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections. • Maintain furnaces, and HVAC, including performing daily and weekly status checks and monthly and annual filter changes as appropriate. • Maintain the generators, including performing status checks, filter changes, oil, and other fluid changes as appropriate. • Coordinate key management, providing and collecting keys from CCWV employees as appropriate. • Coordinate alarm code management, administer alarm codes as appropriate and serve as the first point of response for maintenance and repair. • Coordinate facility supply orders on a regular basis and assist with any other supplies ordered by the Purchasing Coordinator as needed. • Assist with CCWV's delivery, and setup needs to CCWV's many locations for any equipment and supplies as needed. • Other duties as assigned by management Teamwork: • Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow Team Members. • Assist other Team Members in the performance of their assignments. • Seek out opportunities to help rather than waiting to be asked. • Consider the impact of your actions on Team Members throughout the Organization. • Take direction and initiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless operations. • Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary within the organization. Problem Solving: • Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns. • Investigate and follow through on unusual orders or requests for service or information. • Follow proper reporting procedures for actual or potential accidents and/or incidents so follow-up and/or prevention can occur. • Record/report the need for service maintenance or repair of equipment and remove any faulty equipment from service. • Consistently evaluate work and determine if further steps are needed to meet departmental expectations. • Take the initiative to do or redo inadequate or incomplete work, even if it is not yours. • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Productivity/ Efficiency: • Consistently demonstrate the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary. • Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the System's future needs (education, organizing, housekeeping, and assisting others). • Organize job functions and work areas to be able to complete varied assignments within established time frames effectively. • Consistently demonstrate the ability to take the initiative to make decisions/choices without direct supervision. Qualifications/Requirements/Skills: • Possess strong organizational skills • Able to work collectively with the administrative team. • Able to work with minimum supervision • Will be required to travel to other CCWV work locations Education/Training/Experience: • High school diploma • Familiarity with a wide range of equipment and tools and proficiency in maintenance and repair tasks • HVAC Certification preferred. Classification 1. Universal Technician or comparable.
