Wendling, Inc. - Buckhannon, WV 26201Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedSalary Range: $16.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Category: WarehousePOSITION SUMMARY: An Order Picker, or Picker Packer, is responsible for reading incoming orders and selecting the correct items from the warehouse shelves before staging them for delivery. Their duties include operating forklifts and other heavy machinery, updating inventory counts and counting out the appropriate number of goods to fulfill and order. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Reading customer orders accurately. • Locating and selecting the specific warehouse items to fulfill the customer's order. • Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery to stack items and prepare orders for shipping. • Placing the prepared orders in the correct dock slips for loading onto shipping trucks. • Performing visual inspections of orders to ensure they are correct and ready for shipment. • Labeling order shipments correctly for easy identification. • Following warehouse safety procedures for the operation of equipment, such as wearing proper clothing, safe food handling, and maintaining awareness of your surroundings and the other workers when transporting items. • Keeping the warehouse clean and organized at all times. QualificationsEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements: • Ability to use a radio frequency or barcode scanner • In-depth knowledge of industry safety regulations • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for long hours • Great team spirit • Great physical strength and fitness • Excellent attention to detail • Great self-independence and motivation • Excellent oral and written communication skills• Physical Requirements: • Physical ability to lift, carry, and position: up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally. • Must be able to constantly bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, climb, kneel, squat, twist and stand throughout shift. • Must be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. occasionally • Confident and comfortable operating equipment at heights up to 30 feet • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls. Work Environment: • Work hours may vary, or change based on department requirements. • The job is primarily performed in a warehouse environment • Regularly exposed to fast moving material handling and other mechanical equipment. • Working in multiple environments including office, warehouse (can reach up to 100F) and ambient refrigeration (33-38F) and freezer areas (0- -20) for extended times • The noise level in the work environment is typically low.
