Job DetailsJob Location: BUFFALO, NY 14203Position Type: AdministrativeSalary Range: $148,000.00 - $160,000.00 SalaryJob Category: AdministrativeJob Summary The Human Resource Director leads and directs the functions of the Human Resources (HR) Department including oversight of the hiring and onboarding  of staff employees,  pay administration, benefits, and leave, and enforcing Firm policies and practices.  The Human Resource Director works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.  Develop and execute the Firm’s talent strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.  Lead the talent acquisition process for support staff.  Develop and execute the Firm’s Annual Performance Management process. Monitor various aspects of employee performance, assessing the need for training, and handle disciplinary processes.   Oversee and provide support and guidance to HR generalists, management, managers and supervisors, and other personnel when complex, specialized and sensitive questions and issues arise. Review and analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive pay structures and other incentives to ensure the ability to attract and retain top talent.   Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices, including various statutory reporting requirements.   Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies relevant to computer systems and software programs in human resources, talent management, and employment law.   Oversee maintenance of paper and electronic files in compliance with the Firm’s policies.   Uphold the firm’s reputation as the premier source for sophisticated legal counsel by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter. Performs other duties as assigned.   QualificationsQualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or comparable experience required.  A minimum of three years of human resources management experience preferred.  SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources processes.  Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, and ability to work effectively. Excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong leadership skills.   Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity and professionalism, and to maintain confidentiality. Solid understanding of employment-related laws and regulations. Willingness to take initiative, be flexible, demonstrate resiliency, and demonstrate a willingness to adapt to change. Physical Demands This role primarily involves sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Employees are expected to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment. Frequent use of hands for typing, using a mouse, and operating office equipment (e.g., printers, fax machines) is required. The role may require occasional lifting of office supplies or files, typically not exceeding 25 pounds. This could involve moving boxes of documents or other office materials. This position is anticipated to pay within the range of $148,000-$160,000/year, depeding on experience.
