Their main responsibility overnight is to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hotel's public areas and assist with guest requests. They do more than just tidy up spaces overnight; they uphold the high cleanliness standards Marriott is known for. Being detail-oriented, managing time well, and having a strong work ethic are essential for this overnight position. The Houseperson also collaborates with other hotel departments overnight to promptly respond to guest needs and requests. Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and supplies, including vacuums, mops, and disinfectants, to sanitize bathrooms and other room areas. Understanding of hotel safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for guests and staff. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of safety protocols to handle chemicals Ability to keep track of room supplies, restock as necessary, and maintain an organized work area. Reasoning Ability: The Houseperson must have strong reasoning skills to make sound decisions and prioritize tasks, ensuring cleanliness in guest areas and public spaces. They need to quickly adapt to changes, assist room attendants with special requests, and address issues during their shift.
