Summary
The Business Operations Specialist supports commercial activities for existing customers and new business opportunities, serving as a key liaison between customers and internal functional teams including Sales, Quality and Marketing. This role maintains commercial records, coordinates customer requests, supports business development activities, and ensures effective execution of commercial processes.
This position collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, Finance, Legal, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to support customer satisfaction and business growth. This is a developmental commercial role with opportunities to expand customer-facing responsibilities and advance into broader commercial, account management, or sales positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Support day-to-day commercial communications with existing customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain commercial documentation including customer contracts, amendments, pricing agreements, and customer records.
- Collect and manage customer demand forecasts and communicate significant changes.
- Coordinate and track new business inquiries and opportunities.
- Support quotation development, pricing administration, and commercial proposal preparation.
- Coordinate customer requests across Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Legal, Quality, EHS, and Customer Service.
- Track customer and internal action items to ensure timely follow-up.
- Maintain customer, project, and opportunity data within company systems.
- Support customer, market, competitive, and business analyses and prepare reports and presentations.
- Assist with customer meetings, business reviews, and commercial planning activities.
- Gradually assume increased responsibility for customer accounts and commercial opportunities.
Qualifications
Incumbents must have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in these areas. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sales Support, Business Development, Customer Service, Account Management, or related functions preferred.
- Experience in semiconductor materials, electronic materials, specialty gases, chemicals, or other industrial B2B markets preferred.

Work Environments
This position operates in a professional office environment, requiring frequent interaction with various internal departments and customer organizations. Occasional domestic travel may be required. Hybrid/remote work is permitted on an occasional basis in accordance with company policy
