Through collaboration and teamwork, you will help carry out this vision within your area of responsibility and influence. The Retail Warehouse Associate is a motivated, dependable team member responsible for treating guests with care and patience, receiving donations, load and unload trucks, and maintaining a neat and clean workspace. Additional tasks may be assigned at times by your supervisor. Consideration will be given to your current workload and duties. Key Result Areas: Guest Interactions: greet guests with a friendly welcome and assist them with loading and unloading used merchandise and furniture. Supply retail departments: provide products for departments as needed Loading and unloading merchandise and furniture: Load and unload product onto delivery trucks using a forklift and/or pallet jack Load and unload used merchandise and furniture for guests Maintain a neat clean workspace: Keep the warehouse and furniture area clean and organized Assist Furniture Department: clean, organize, and price used furniture Close the store: follow store closing procedures when working a shift at closing time. Workplace Environment Physical Labor Environment – Involves working indoors or outdoors in elements of weather, noise, equipment, dust, and temperature. Repetitive motions of the hands and arms to handle, move, carry, and control objects and tools for extended periods of time are required. Body positioning - Includes standing and walking for the duration of a shift. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing and reaching is required. Physical Demands – This position is classified as heavy work. The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally, and 26 to 50 pounds frequently, either alone or with assistance. Work Shifts – Involves full time day shift hours with occasional weekend, holiday, or evening shifts. Reading Comprehension- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents. Speaking- Talking to others to convey information effectively. Social Skills Service Orientation- Actively looking for ways to help people. Technical Skills Equipment Selection- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Operation and Control- Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Desktop Computer Skills Internet- Navigating the Internet to find information, including the ability to open and configure standard browsers; use searches, hypertext references, and transfer protocols; and send and retrieve electronic mail (e-mail). Navigation- Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest. Experience/Training Required: Certified Forklift Operator New Horizons Ministries will provide training as required if not experienced or trained in that field. Compensation: This position may be considered a full time or part time position based on scheduled work hours. Full-time This is a full-time position. This position is not exempt, which means that overtime pay will be paid for time worked over 40 hours per week. Paid Medical Leave, MEC, and Life Insurance is included, optional health benefits include Vision, and HDHP. Paid vacation begins to accrue after 30 days. Compensation will be paid twice a month, on the 7th and 21st of each month. Part-time This is a part-time position consisting of 30 hours or less per week. This position is not exempt, which means that overtime pay will be paid for time worked over 40 hours per week. Paid Medical Leave is included. No paid time off is available for part-time employees. Compensation will be paid twice a month, on the 7th and 21st of each month. No compensation will be provided for voluntary time and/or services provided and volunteered by the employee that fall outside the typical employee responsibilities for this job.
