Position purpose

We are looking for an experienced TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. Our ideal applicant has experience TIG welding stainless steel as well as experience various grinding tools. You must be able to read blueprints or technical schematics. We expect our team members to have strong attention to detail in order to ensure the quality of each weld and the safety of the workplace.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Working hours from 6:00am-3:30pm
  • Perform welding duties using a TIG welder.
  • Use welding equipment to weld steel components as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
  • Work with others to assist in the welding of multi-component parts.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobs needs.
  • Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
  • Communicates with management, for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventive maintenance functions on equipment. Suggest and implement improvements.
  • Completes all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.

Qualifications

Employee must have:

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and caliper.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and other shop drawing aids.
  • Demonstrated competency in basic shop math, including fraction to decimal conversion skills.
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
  • Safety conscious behavior.
