Game On Turf Manufacturing Supervisor - 2nd shift

Position Overview

Shaw Sports Turf is a North American leader in synthetic turf, with over 4,000 successful installations and a reputation for innovation, quality, and athlete‑focused performance. As a Turf Continuous Line Supervisor, you will help produce the same high‑performance turf systems trusted by major professional and collegiate programs—including teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Miami Marlins.

In this role, you will lead associates, oversee continuous line operations, and ensure all products meet Shaw’s rigorous quality standards, which include more than 450 performance tests for every field manufactured. This position is ideal for candidates who want to contribute to industry‑leading turf production in an environment built on teamwork, precision, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):

  • Supervise a group of associates on a continuous line operation that will tuft and coat a field.

  • Monitor associates and equipment all Gantries to ensure the turf is being tufted and coated correctly and in the right pattern.

  • Act as liaison between Department Manager and employees by providing an effective line of communication within the department.

  • Responsible for the execution of SMS Procedures

  • Monitor all departmental production, production quality, processes and procedures and ensure that departmental SMS procedures and instructions are continually followed by all employees

  • Ensure that department machinery and equipment is well maintained and repaired, when needed

  • Support and follow Environmental procedures and programs

  • Assist Scheduling and Department Manager in the production planning process for the department to include ordering yarn and setting up departmental and plant test procedures prior to running mixed lots.

  • Complete the appropriate paperwork needed to effectively monitor and record departmental productivity, quality and performance

  • Attend and/or conduct periodic departmental meetings

  • When the need arises, perform or delegate the performance of any of the various jobs or procedures within the department while referring to the appropriate SMS. Instructional and Procedural documentation

  • Assist employees in resolving any job-related problems or concerns

  • If quality issues are detected, troubleshoot root cause and correct if possible. Notify Department Manager or Process Engineer, if unable to fix.

  • Communicate to the oncoming shift supervisor any quality or mechanical concerns.

Non‑Essential Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Department Manager.

  • Work flexible schedules as needed.

  • Assist R&D with samples and TPRs.

  • Follow procedures for employees returning from LOA/layoff.

  • Support housekeeping improvements.

  • Participate in committees and task forces.

  • Assist with yarn/backing inventories during shutdowns.

  • Ensure machines and lights are powered down at shutdown.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior supervisory/leadership experience required.

  • Computer proficiency.

  • Carpet manufacturing experience and ability to identify defects.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit/stand for 8+ hours.

  • Ability to climb steps and walk the plant multiple times daily.

  • Able to work in varying temperatures and humidity.
