Job Summary:Â Â Â Â
​​The Cost Accountant provides accounting and cost accounting support within our semiconductor company, covering financial reporting, accounting operations, and cost analysis. This includes gathering historical cost data, investigating cost structures, and analyzing product and service pricing and budget-versus-actual results. The role applies analytical methods to semiconductor manufacturing economics, such as cost models for production processes, yield management, and technology nodes, to support manufacturing profitability and cost competitiveness. The position requires strong accounting and cost accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively across accounting and cost accounting teams to ensure accurate financial recording, reporting, and cost management.​Â

Responsibilities:Â Â
​​Accounting Operations
​Supporting processes and proceduresÂ
​Assist with transaction processing and reconciliationÂ
​Contribute to month-end closing activitiesÂ
​Help prepare financial statements and reportsÂ
​Support identification and resolution of accounting discrepancies and exceptionsÂ
​Maintain reconciliation and supporting accounting documentationÂ
​Financial Reporting and Cost Analysis
​Support financial reporting processes and data collection and verificationÂ
​Help prepare required financial disclosures and management reporting packagesÂ
​Support compliance with accounting standards and cost accounting policiesÂ
​Contribute to cost frameworks and cost models that support business decision-makingÂ
​Assist with product and portfolio cost analysis, including margin analysis and target-costing supportÂ
​Manufacturing Cost Analysis
​Support cost analysis of semiconductor manufacturing operations and technologiesÂ
​Assist with development of cost models for production processes, yield management, and technology nodesÂ
​Help identify manufacturing cost drivers and cost trendsÂ
​Run analysis that supports manufacturing optimization, capacity planning, and technology investment decisionsÂ
​Assist with maintaining and contributing to the Bi-annual standard cost updatesÂ
​Assist insight into MFG variances, PPV, and E&OÂ
​Support initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing profitability and cost competitivenessÂ
​Audit Support
​Assist with internal and external audit activitiesÂ
​Support preparation of audit schedules and documentationÂ
​Help respond to audit inquiries and requestsÂ
​Contribute to implementation of audit recommendationsÂ
​Document audit support activitiesÂ
​Cross-functional Support and Knowledge Transfer
​Support accounting interfaces with other departments, including operations, engineering, and supply chainÂ
​Assist with financial communications and information sharing across functionsÂ
​Contribute to cross-functional financial initiatives and process improvement effortsÂ
​Document processes and procedures for knowledge transferÂ
​Share accounting expertise and support training on specific proceduresÂ
​Support adoption of new cost accounting tools, technologies, and digital solutionsÂ

Minimum Qualifications:Â
​Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practicesÂ
​Strong analytical skills and attention to detailÂ
​Experience with accounting software and systemsÂ
​High level of accuracy in financial calculationsÂ
​Good problem-solving abilitiesÂ
​Effective written and verbal communication skillsÂ
​Ability to work effectively in team environmentsÂ
​Advanced Excel and Accounting Software skillsÂ
​Flexibility to adapt to changing accounting requirementsÂ
​Commitment to financial accuracy and integrityÂ
​Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, technologies, and cost driversÂ

​Experience with advanced costing methodologies including activity-based costing and target costingÂ
​Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Preferred), cost modules, and analytical platformsÂ
​​Education and ExperienceÂ
​Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field requiredÂ
​2+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or related roleÂ
​Knowledge of accounting principles and standardsÂ
​Experience with accounting systems and financial applicationsÂ
​Background in technology or manufacturing industry preferredÂ
​2-5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or related rolesÂ
​Advanced knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing economics and cost structuresÂ

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000.  There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.Â
