Job Summary

The Technical Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the Surety Department. As directed, handle administrative and technical assignments, including but not limited to preparation of surety related documents, working within the WorkSmart document management systems and Sagitta. Processing of bonds, invoicing and other duties as assigned.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage mail in Document Management System (WorkSmart)
  • Provide assistance with working and maintaining monthly surety bond renewals
  • Maintain Client files to company standards in Sagitta
  • Handle phone, mail, walk-in customers and other administrative support for Surety Department
  • Ability to prepare, type, and compose professional business correspondence, including letters and memoranda.
  • Assist team with accounts receivable management on a bi-weekly basis
  • Reporting of bonds to surety companies and invoicing/Billing, as directed
  • Follow up on requests with clients and carrier underwriters, as directed

Other Functions:

  • Ability to plan schedule and organize workload to meet deadlines established by Supervisor
  • Maintain WorkSmart Document Management System Client files to company standards
  • Adhere to Conner Strong & Buckelew policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure accuracy of account data
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • P&C License (or obtain post hire) is preferred
  • Must be willing and able to obtain notary certification within first 3 months of employment
  • Other insurance designations deemed appropriate
  • Detail oriented with ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work overtime/flexible hours if/when required
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently
  • Knowledge of Surety Management, Document Management and Agency Management Systems preferred Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.

Specialized Knowledge and/or Licenses

Property and Casualty Producer License, where required

Working Conditions

Individual will work in a professional office environment with a moderate noise level. Able to work flexible hours and travel to other Conner Strong offices, as directed.

Salary for this position ranges from $26.00 - $30.00. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
