Role Summary
The Project Superintendent is responsible for leading day-to-day field operations to ensure the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of construction projects. This role works closely with the Project Manager to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations, contract documents, and internal performance goals. The Superintendent will manage field personnel, subcontractors, site logistics, and all jobsite coordination while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Project Execution
- Lead daily site operations, overseeing all field activities, subcontractors, and deliveries
- Maintain jobsite safety protocols; enforce all OSHA, company, and regulatory requirements
- Manage schedule execution and updates; take ownership of short-term and long-range planning
- Coordinate inspections, manage quality control, and enforce contract document compliance
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsite environments at all times
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Supervise and mentor field staff and Field Engineers
- Serve as the primary field liaison to Owners, A/E teams, inspectors, and users
- Provide daily coordination between trades to avoid conflicts and improve workflow
- Participate in preconstruction efforts including buyout scope reviews and schedule input
Documentation & Controls
- Ensure Procore is accurately maintained with RFIs, photos, daily logs, as-builts, and look-aheads
- Lead the project through punch list, closeout, and turnover, ensuring thorough documentation
- Track and manage site logistics, manpower forecasting, and resource planning
Safety, Schedule & Quality Management
- Champion a safety-first culture—ensure all personnel go home safe
- Maintain control of project schedule—no excuse mindset for missed dates
- Ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the build; anticipate and resolve field issues
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Zero safety incidents or violations
- Weekly schedule adherence and updated look-aheads
- Clean jobsite with minimal rework and field-driven delays
- Field documentation compliance in Procore
- Trade contractor performance and accountability
- On-time completion of project closeout and owner training
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- 7–15 years of field experience on commercial projects valued at $25M+
- Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite
- 30-Hour OSHA, NPDES Blue Card, and Procore certification (or obtained during onboarding)
- Ability to lead with confidence, communicate clearly, and solve problems proactively
- Strong understanding of sequencing, trade coordination, and construction workflows

Physical RequirementsÂ
- Work in both office and construction site environments.
- Traverse active construction sites for extended periods, up to a half mile per day.
- Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl during site visits and inspections.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
