Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where you will be the friendly face and organized voice that keeps our clinic running smoothly. You will handle a variety of front desk duties, coordinate appointments, manage medical records, and support clinical staff with efficient administrative processes. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out procedures
  • Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) system Athena health
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification to ensure smooth billing processes
  • Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately
  • Assist with medical billing tasks including coding (CPT, ICD), medical collection efforts, and documentation review
  • Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, lab results, and other health information management files in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, handling intake procedures, and coordinating patient flow.
  • Operate Microsoft Office programs medical practice management software.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards by safeguarding patient information
Skills

  • Proven experience in medical office administration or as a Medical Receptionist in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR Athenahealth.
  • Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, Medicare procedures, and documentation review processes
  • Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 70wpm for efficient data entry
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, and health information management standards
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing medical records, filing systems, and office workflows
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
  • Previous medical office experience is mandatory.
