Job Title: Weekend Department Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Weekend Department Supervisor is a working supervisor that is responsible for leading their department production operations related to the manufacturing of underground pipe liner during the weekend shift. This role ensures safety, quality, and production standards are met while serving as the primary point of contact between production team members and upper management. The Supervisor will foster a collaborative environment focused on productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Friday - Sunday
  • Supervise, coordinate, and support all production employees working on the weekend shift.
  • Oversee workflow, production output, and equipment performance to meet scheduled goals.
  • Enforce safety procedures and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and performance evaluations to build a high-performing team.
  • Conduct shift meetings to communicate daily expectations, production goals, and company updates.
  • Identify and resolve production challenges, escalating technical issues to maintenance, engineering, or quality teams as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of shift reports, attendance logs, and incident records.
  • Promote and uphold 5S practices, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with weekday leadership teams to ensure smooth shift transitions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities across all levels of the organization.
  • Flexible and dependable, with a strong commitment to meeting production deadlines.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to change levels - stepping up and down numerous times a day
  • Walking on a slanted surface
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Exposure to noise, temperature changes, and machinery typical of a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:

  • Operates primarily on the production floor with regular exposure to moving equipment and manufacturing materials.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
