Arthrex is actively searching for an AV Systems Programmer to develop, configure and maintain audio-visual control system applications for enterprise solutions.  This role involves architecture design and programming audio-video (AV) control platforms, integrating hardware and software components, and ensuring seamless functionality across audio, video and network systems, Operating Rooms, meeting spaces, digital signage and conference rooms.  Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of control system programming and UX of AV systems.
  • Design and develop control system programs for AV platforms to help improve healthcare workflows. 
  • Develop reusable code modules and maintain a code library for control system code.
  • Conduct system testing, debugging, and quality assurance before deployment.
  • Provide technical documentation, user guides, and training for end-users and support teams.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and automation scripts using Python, C#, and JavaScript.
  • Build web-based interfaces and dashboards using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Create RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js and Express.js for AV system integration
  • Program and troubleshoot device communication using Telnet, RS-232, RS-485, and IP protocols.
  • Implement control logic for contact closures and relay-based devices for AV automation.
  • Configure network settings of AV devices, Cisco switches, servers, and workstations.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to hospitals dealing with AV applications, either on-site or through remote software applications
  • Configure and integrate AV hardware such as switchers, DSPs, projectors, and video conferencing systems.
  • Implement AV-over-IP solutions and troubleshoot network-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Integration team planners, engineers, and teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
  • Stay current with emerging AV technologies and programming standards.
  • Travel up to 10%

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of related experience preferred.
  • Basic Python, Node.js, and REST API experience
  • Familiarity with computers and IP network systems.
  • Familiar with web-based interfaces and dashboards using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Experience with audio mixing consoles (digital and analog), wired and wireless microphones, graphic and parametric equalizers, compressors, gates, and audio effects processors. 
  • Advanced understanding of audio signal flow and routing. 
  • Experience configuring and operating IMAG and projection equipment as well as video routing/switching equipment.
