Extreme Demolition & Land Clearing, LLC, a Southwest Florida demolition, land clearing, and site development contractor, is seeking a dependable and hardworking Site Work Superintendent to oversee and manage site development, land clearing, excavation, grading, utility and related construction projects from start to finish. The Superintendent is responsible for coordinating field operations, supervising crews and subcontractors, ensuring project safety, maintaining schedules, and delivering high-quality work while meeting production and budget goals. This position requires a valid driver's license, clean driving record, pre-employment drug screening and background check.Â
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage daily field operations for site development, excavation, grading, utility installation, and land clearing projects. Â
- Supervise crew leaders, equipment operators, laborers, truck drivers, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and project schedules.
- Review plans, specifications, permits, and project documents prior to project startup.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
- Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Monitor project productivity, labor hours, equipment utilization, and production goals.
- Coordinate deliveries, subcontractors, inspections, and utility locates.
- Verify grades, elevations, layouts, and project benchmarks.
- Communicate project progress, delays, change orders, and field issues to management.
- Conduct routine quality control inspections throughout project execution.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges and jobsite conflicts.
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, inspectors, engineers, and vendors.
- Ensure daily reports, equipment inspections, timesheets, and project documentation are completed accurately.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
- Train and mentor field personnel while promoting a positive safety culture.
- Support project profitability through efficient resource management and production oversight.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Minimum of five years experience in site development, excavation, grading, underground utilities, or realted heavy civil construction.
- Minimum of three years supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of site work operations, grading, excavation, drainage systems, and underground utility installation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, grading plans, and utility drawings.
- Experience operating and coordinating heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and haul trucks.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety requirements.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple crews.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic project reporting systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing field conditions.
- Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and production tracking.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in demolition, construction, land clearing, site work, excavation, landscaping, or related labor positions.
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience working around heavy equipment and construction crews.
