PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

As the Branch Manager of National Tank & Equipment, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing a team, driving revenue, and ensuring high levels of customer service.  You will be held accountable to meet and exceed all operational, safety, financial, and performance goals while fostering a positive culture and environment for your team.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Oversee daily operations of the branch including order fulfillment, dispatch, maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Ensure all fleet meets company standards by maintaining condition and servicing to rent ready condition.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels that match market conditions and branch needs for rental fleet, ancillary equipment, and parts inventories.
  • Hire, train and supervise branch staff including mechanics, drivers, yard techs, and sales coordinators.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to all branch personnel fostering a high performing, productive and safe working environment.
  • Conduct annual reviews and coaching sessions throughout the year to ensure all personnel maintain an understanding of their role and have a career plan.
  • Drive rental and other revenues by developing relationships with existing and prospective clients ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Assist customers with matching the necessary equipment with their specified application showing as the subject matter expert.
  • Handle all customer service complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Manage and develop a deep understanding of P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Ensure rental contracts, invoices, and other documentation are accurate and filed according to company standards.
  • Monitor KPI’s and other data including utilization, ROI, rental rates, operating costs, and profitability.
  • Promote and enforce a safety culture for all personnel at the branch.
  • Ensure all necessary compliance with internal and external relevant regulations.
  • Maintain all documentation needed such as safety inspections, driver logs, and equipment files.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, logistics, engineering, or related field.
    1. Experience in education.
  • 3 to 5 years of managing a team in a service-related industry.
    1. Equipment rental experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of operations and processes with a strong sales acumen.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Working knowledge of rotating, mechanical equipment.
  • Solid understanding of the equipment rental industry.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Financial and P&L experience along with a strong sales acumen.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP, and CRM systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office and field environment with visits to job sites and customer locations.
  • Ability to work beyond standard times when necessary, including after hours for emergency response.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a variety of conditions.
