Position Summary 

The QA Associate II is a junior technical position supporting CBFO QAD and the continued development of its technical team. The position supports quality assurance assessments, document and procedure reviews, tracking activities, and monthly reporting associated with generator sites, the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), and other WIPP participants. 

This is a permanent, onsite/local position scheduled for 40 hours per week on a 4/10 work schedule. Travel is required up to six times per year. The position is not located at the WIPP site. 

Responsibilities 

  • Qualify as a QA Auditor under the CBFO QAD qualification process within five years of service. 
  • Perform as a QA Auditor on generator site-related assessments by completing NMED Permit-driven C6-1 Checklists for general quality assurance elements. 
  • Assist Lead Auditors by participating as a QA Auditor in WIPP site assessments and other WIPP participant-related assessments, as assigned. 
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance-related spreadsheets. 
  • Track incoming CBFO QAD requests for quality assurance reviews of generator site and other WIPP participant procedures and documents. 
  • Coordinate assigned reviews to support timely responses. 
  • Assist the quality assurance team with monthly input reporting. 
  • Develop and review documents and procedures, including the CBFO Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD), management procedures, and draft correspondence. 
  • Ability to qualify as a QA Auditor under the CBFO QAD qualification process within five years of service. 
  • Ability to support generator site, WIPP site, and other WIPP participant-related quality assurance assessments as assigned. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain quality assurance-related spreadsheets and accurately track incoming review requests. 
  • Ability to develop and review quality assurance documents, procedures, management procedures, and draft correspondence. 
  • Ability to travel up to six times per year. 
  • Ability to work onsite/local on a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, 4/10 schedule. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with quality assurance auditing or assessment activities. 
  • Familiarity with CBFO QAD, WIPP, generator sites, WIPP participants, the NMED Permit, C6-1 Checklists, or quality assurance program documentation. 
  • Experience coordinating document or procedure reviews and supporting recurring program reporting.
