Junior NPI Engineer (Level 1)

Are you an early-career engineer looking to grow your skills in project management, manufacturing engineering, and new product introduction? We are seeking a motivated Junior NPI Engineer (Level 1) to support the successful launch of new products into production within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and customers while building a strong technical foundation.
What You’ll Do
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from project kickoff through production launchÂ
- Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth transition of new products into manufacturingÂ
- Review product documentation and engineering data to confirm manufacturability and completenessÂ
- Assist with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) activitiesÂ
- Participate in kickoff, readiness, and wrap-up meetings for new projectsÂ
- Work closely with customers, internal project teams, Test Engineering, and Design Engineering to resolve issues related to quality, design, materials, and processesÂ
- Help manage project timelines and tasks using a structured phase-gate processÂ
- Create and process Internal Change Requests (ICRs) and engineering documentation updatesÂ
- Identify manufacturing or process issues and help develop practical solutionsÂ
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance manufacturability and production efficiencyÂ
- Complete customer feedback reports and follow internal change management proceduresÂ
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration across teamsÂ
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical fieldÂ
- 0–2 years of engineering or manufacturing experience (internships/co-ops considered)Â
- Exposure to manufacturing, production, or project coordination environments preferredÂ
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesÂ
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesÂ
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentÂ
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityÂ
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Basic understanding of SMT, selective soldering, and wave soldering processesÂ
- Familiarity with manufacturing and machine shop operationsÂ
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and production documentationÂ
- Experience with ERP systems preferred (Syteline experience a plus)Â
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Â
- Understanding of manufacturing documentation and change control processesÂ
